Origin Story
My graphic design journey kicked off with an illicit copy of Photoshop CS6, but... I embarked on my college education in the realm of computer engineering. With a deep-rooted passion for working with computers, I naturally gravitated towards this field, tackling problems with an engineering mindset. It seemed like the perfect fit, and if I'm being honest, the prospect of a high starting salary kept me entrenched in that path for longer than I care to admit. However, several weeks into yet another semester of coding and math classes, I found myself surrounded by classmates enthusiastically discussing their personal engineering projects outside of school. That wasn't me. Instead, my weekends were devoted to crafting desktop wallpapers, indulging in video game fan-art, and creating eye-catching posters for my shared apartment. After squandering a considerable amount of desperately needed financial aid and causing some inconvenience to a handful of professors, I finally mustered the courage to veer off the path I had settled for. I made the switch to where I truly belonged. Fast forward four years, and I proudly walked across the stage (sat on the couch with my roommates and watched a slide-show) to receive my BFA in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University.
